Feb 11, 2019 · Inside DD-WRT I left default configurations: "Default Gateway: 0.0.0.0" which is saying "let any device on the router be the gateway, including myself." BGW210-700 was like, "Hey, I'm a default gateway". And DD-WRT was like, well, there you go. And the machine behind DD-WRT was provisioned a public ip address via BGW210. I have a new AirstationN300 (WHR-300HP2D) and have been attempting to flash it with dd-wrt. I've read that I need to 30-30-30 reset it, followed by flashing the bin file via tftp2.exe. I changed the IP address to 162.168.11.7 and every time I try to flash it, it does not find the device. I flashed my router using the right .img and .bin file. I have CenturyLink and need to configure vlan 201 for internet access. I'm not able to configure it in dd-wrt. Here's what it looked like in my Netgear factory genie UI. Please tell me what do I need to do in my dd-wrt.
I was running DD-WRT for several months. There are many firmwares which do not work properly. They will load fine but many features will not work. If you want to install it there is a thread on the DD-WRT forums with a discussion on which firmwares will work. Armed with knowledge of our wireless environment, we're ready to enter some new wireless settings in DD-WRT. This is an important step, as customized settings are needed to get full performance out of this router. Luckily, both Kong and the DD-WRT forums have complete suggestions.

As a result, they also have the largest community, so finding support for DD-WRT tends to be easier than other custom router firmware. Even routers that aren’t officially supported tend to get community builds that are actively supported in the DD-WRT forums. Strengths. Supports tons of routers The DD-WRT wiki page for the NETGEAR R7000 states this router "supports CPU overclocking (1200MHz and 1400MHz possible)". Higher than that will be unstable.
